Hema Malini has been awarded this year’s Best Indian Personality of the Year at the International Film Festival in Goa.

The 52nd Indian International Film Festival kicked off in Goa today. The international section of the film festival features 148 films from around 73 countries. The festival runs until the 28th. ODT sites like Netflix, Amazon Prime, G5, Wood, Sony Live ODT sites are attending the event.

The inaugural function was attended by Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Tagore, Union Minister L Murugan, Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh, Madhya. About 75 film celebrities are expected to attend the event.

The Indian Film Personality Award is presented annually at the International Film Festival in India. Accordingly, Hema Malini was given this year’s Indian Film Personality Award. The award was presented by Union Minister Anurag Tagore and Associate Minister L. Murugan. Similarly, the award is to be given to Prasoon Joshi, the best songwriter and chairman of the Central Film Certification Board.

Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Hollywood celebrity Martin Scorsese and renowned Hungarian filmmaker Steven Sabo.
