Prime Minister Modi congratulated all Navy personnel and their families on the occasion of Indian Navy Day.
In his Twitter post, he said, “Happy Navy Day to all Navy personnel and their families. All of us Indians are proud of our rich maritime history.
Our Indian Navy has stood firm in protecting our nation and has risen to the occasion with its humanitarian spirit in challenging times.” He mentioned thus. Navy Day is celebrated on December 4 every year to mark the great victory of the Indian Navy in the war against Pakistan on December 4, 1971 in the port of Karachi.

Accordingly this year Navy Day is celebrated today. On this occasion, various special programs have been organized in Chennai on behalf of the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry Zonal Naval Office.
