The much-anticipated Goa International Film Festival has set the stage to showcase some of the finest works from Indian cinema, and leading the pack is the debut film ‘Attam’. Directed and written by Anand Ekarshi, ‘Attam’ has been chosen as the opening film for the Indian Panorama section at the festival.

This year, the National Film Development Corporation’s Film Bazaar jury selected twenty films for international delegates, and ‘Attam’ made its mark among the chosen few. Starring Vinay Fort as the protagonist and Serin Shihab as the female lead, the film promises to captivate audiences with its unique storyline and compelling performances.

In addition to ‘Attam’, seven other Malayalam films have been selected for the Indian Panorama category in the feature section. These include: ‘Kathal’ starring Mammootty and Jyothika, Vishnu Shashi Shankar’s ‘Malikappuram’ starring Unni Mukundan, ‘Iratta’ directed by Rohit MG Krishnan, Ratheesh Balakrishna Phudhuwal’s ‘Nna Than Kes Kod’, Ganesh Raj’s ‘Pookalam’, and Anthony’s 2018.

Bringing a touch of regional diversity, ‘Sree Rudram’ directed by Ananda Jyoti from Malayalam has also secured a spot in the non-feature category.

The festival’s lineup also features a range of noteworthy films from other languages. Hindi filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘Vaccine War’, Sudeepto Sen’s ‘The Kerala Story’, Tamil director Vetrimaran’s ‘Vithuthalai’, and the highly anticipated ‘Ponnayan Selvan 2’ from renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam will also be screened during the nine-day event.

With a total of 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films being showcased in the Panorama section, the Goa International Film Festival promises a cinematic extravaganza that will enthral cinephiles from all walks of life. The festival is scheduled to take place from November 20 to 28, captivating audiences with its diverse range of films that embody the spirit of Indian cinema.
