Mumbai: The Indian rupee rose 7 paise to close at 82.81 against the US dollar amid a marginal decline in crude oil prices.
In the interbank forex market, the rupee traded at a high of Rs.82.62 and a low of Rs.82.81, while the rupee traded at Rs.82.71. It fell 9 paise to Rs 82.88 against the dollar on Friday.
The global crude oil benchmark fell 1.59 percent to USD 91.78 a barrel.
In the 30-share equity market, the BSE Sensex fell 287.70 points to close at 59,543.96, while the NSE fell 74.40 points to 17,656.35.
