Indian shooter qualifies for Paris Olympics; Rudramksh Rudramksh Patil won gold in 10m

New Delhi: Indian young player Rudranksh Patil has qualified for the Paris Olympics by winning gold in the Cairo World Championship. In the shooting event, Patil won gold in 10m air rifle. Rudraksh is the second Indian player to win gold in the same event at the World Championships.

Eighteen-year-old Rudranksh defeated Italy’s Danilo Dennis Solazov 17-13. After trailing by more than four points, he came back with a brilliant performance to win the gold. Rudramksh has also gone down in sports history as one of the six Indian athletes to have won gold in the World Championships so far.

In the shooting event, four people can qualify for the Olympics in different categories. Two people including Patil have already qualified in two events. This time, the first qualifier in shooting was Bhowneesh Mentiratha, who won gold at the Shotgun World Championship in Koasia.
