The Indian team to participate in the World Table Tennis Championship to be held in China has been announced under the leadership of Sarath Kamal.

Sarath Kamal, who won 3 gold medals in the recent Commonwealth Games, did not participate in this event due to personal reasons.

The World Championship will be held from September 30 to October 9 in Chengdu, China. A two-ball team of 5 each has been announced to participate in this. Sanil Shetty, Hameed Desai, Manush Shah and Manav Thakkar are included in the men’s team led by G. Sathian.

Sreeja Akula, Reeth Rishia, Diya Sitale and Swastika Ghosh have also joined the women’s team led by Manika Patra. The coaches for this team are S. Raman, Anindita Chakraborty and Manika’s personal trainer Chris Adrian Fayff. The Indian team leaves for China on September 25 to participate in the World Championship.
