The next big series after this Asia Cup is the T20 World Cup. The BCCI selectors are actively engaged in the process of selecting the team as they have to give the Indian team by September 15.
Problem with bowling:
The biggest problem in the Indian team right now is the bowling department. Hardik Pandya bowled 4 overs in the Asia Cup when he bowled badly. Taking this into account, Hardik Pandya can only be included as a part-time bowler in the T20 World Cup series. Thus Bumrah needs to add another quality bowler apart from Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Pick 2 bowlers?
The young bowlers in the Asia Cup did not bowl as much as expected. Thus, it has been reported that the BCCI selection committee is likely to decide to include Mohammad Shami, who performed well in the 15th season of IPL and took 20 wickets at an average of 6 runs in 16 matches. Also, Harshal Patel is more likely to be included as he has regained full fitness.

Australian grounds will have extra bounce. Sanju Samson can attack these types of balls. Due to this, many people are demanding to include Samson. In this case, it has been reported that the BCCI selection committee has decided to drop Deepak Hooda and give Samson a chance.
Elsewhere, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, Akshar Patel, Ashwin, Sahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh are expected to get a place.
