India’s Srikanth advances to Sindh semi-finals

Indian player Kidambi Srikanth has advanced to the semifinals of the current Korean Open Badminton Series in the men’s singles category. Similarly, India’s PV Sindhu advanced to the semifinals in the women’s singles.

Kidambi has been on a winning streak in this series which started on the 5th of last month. He played against South Korean player Sun Wanho in the quarterfinals. Srikanth easily won the first set of the match 21-12. Vanho, however, rose to prominence in the second set.

For the semifinals …

Srikanth lost the set 18-21. The third set started at the exciting stage. There was also the expectation of who of the two would win. However, Srikanth won the first set 21-12 as it was printed. As a result he won the game. Srikanth also became the first player in the men’s singles to advance to the semi-finals.

The Korea Open International Badminton Tournament is being held in Sunxion. The quarterfinals of the women’s singles division took place yesterday morning. In the quarter finals, No. 7 seed PV Sindhu of India clashed with Thailand’s Bhushan Ongpamrungpan. The first set was easily won by PV Sindhu 21-10. PV Sindhu raised his hand in the 2nd set as well. He won the set 21-16. PV Sindhu advanced to the semi-finals 21-10, 21-16.

Rangreti-Chirac …

Similarly, in the men’s doubles, Satviksairaj Rangireddy-Chirac Shetty qualified for the quarterfinals. Thus, the Indian players are making their mark in the current Korean Open badminton series.
