The series in Australia and South Africa will be a great warm-up for the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team as they gear up for the T20 World Cup. India won the T20 series against Australia by 2-1.
The Indian team will next play against South Africa in the T20I and ODI series. The cricket series between India and South Africa will be held from September 28 to October 11. 3 T20Is between India and South Africa will be played on September 28, October 2 and October 4.

As this is the last T20 series before the T20 World Cup, the Indian team will play with the combination that they will play in the T20 World Cup. Both Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who are sure to feature in India’s playing XI for the T20 World Cup, have been left out of the squad for the series. So only other players will play in their place.
Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are both openers. As usual, Virat Kohli will play in the 3rd row and Suryakumar Yadav in the 4th row. Hardik Pandya did not play in this series. Deepak Hooda also withdrew due to injury. So both Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant will feature in the playing XI.
Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal will play as spinners. Bumrah, Harshal Patel and Arshdeep Singh are expected to play as fast bowlers. All three will play as they are part of the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup.
