The police clarify: there is no suspicion of a run-over incident in Be’er Sheva

As you may recall, Chen was arrested last night in Be’er Sheva after protesters claimed that he tried to run them over during a protest event against the law enforcement clause and the reform of the judicial system. The incident took place as part of a demonstration in which about a hundred people participated and was approved by the police.

The police clarified that there is no suspicion of a deliberate attempt to run over.

According to the police statement published after the incident, “the suspect was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct, reckless driving, assault and threats, at this stage we would like to emphasize that there is no suspicion of a run-over attempt. The investigation is not yet over.”

The demonstrators claimed that the young man, a resident of Elad, cursed them, threatened them and drove in their direction in a way that endangered their lives, while calling them “anarchists” and promising that “we will eliminate them”.

Daniel Guy Zabri, who was present at the scene, said in a conversation with Serogs: “We demonstrated on the sidewalk even across a bicycle lane, and we held Israeli flags and signs against the passage of escalation. Suddenly a car arrived and started shouting at us, ‘Leftist anarchists, fly away, we will eliminate you’ and then started to get on the sidewalk.”
