A clash broke out between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Dawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh, India. A spokesperson of the Indian Army said that the clash took place on December 9, 2022. The Indian Army told the BBC that Chinese troops entered Arunachal Pradesh’s Dawang sector on December 9 and India retaliated. A few soldiers from both sides were injured in the clash. Following this, the Indian Army says that the soldiers of both the countries immediately retreated from there.
It has been learned that the commander of the area held talks with the Border Command in China to establish a mutual peace after the clash.
Chinese soldiers suffered more injuries than Indian soldiers in the encounter in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, India’s leading English daily The Hindu reported citing Indian security officials.
Opposition parties criticizing the Modi government
The Congress party has targeted the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition government at the center after the information about the issue started to emerge.

On June 15, 2020, a heavy clash took place between soldiers of the two countries in the border area of Kalwan Valley in eastern Ladakh. 20 Indian soldiers were killed in the conflict. India claims that Chinese soldiers were also killed in large numbers in Galwan. But China confirmed that only four soldiers died. In February 2022, the Australian newspaper ‘The Klaxon’ reported in its investigative report that not four Chinese soldiers had died in Galwan, but at least 38 soldiers, a loss many times greater to China. A general who took part in the Galvan conflict was invited by China as a guest at a meeting of the Chinese Communist Party this year. In 2020, India and China have a tense situation. On May 1 of that year, a skirmish broke out between the soldiers of the two countries on the northern bank of Pangong Cho Lake in eastern Ladakh. Dozens of soldiers were injured on both sides.
Subsequently, on June 15, there was another clash between the soldiers of the two countries in the Galvan Valley. On June 16, a press release from the Indian Army was released regarding the clash. It said, “17 soldiers on duty at the site of the encounter died of serious injuries. Later, the army said the death toll rose to 20. China also issued a statement months after India’s move, but it was unclear how many were killed on its side.
