JAKARTA – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) said that a female Indonesian citizen (WNI) with the initials F was a victim kidnapping In the neighboring country of Malaysia, bruises are currently still in the process of recovering. It is known that F was a victim of kidnapping and was tortured for approximately 10 days while on holiday in Malaysia.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Judha Nugraha, said that on September 22 2023, after the examination was completed, victim F was handed over by the PDRM (Malaysian police) to the Indonesian Consulate General in Penang to be accommodated at the Indonesian Consulate General in Penang shelter.
“Currently F is in good condition and is in the process of recovering from bruises. The Indonesian Consulate General in Penang will continue to accompany F and monitor the legal process in Malaysia,” said Judha when confirmed by MNC Portal, Sunday (24/9/2023).
According to Judha, initially at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur on September 14 2023, the Indonesian Embassy in KL received a complaint of kidnapping and torture of an Indonesian citizen with the initials F. The Indonesian Embassy immediately investigated the report, followed by reporting it to PDRM.
“After the PDRM investigation, the kidnapping and torture were confirmed to have occurred in the Penang area. Through close coordination between the Indonesian Embassy in KL, the Indonesian Consulate General in Penang and close collaboration with the Malaysian Police, Ms. F was successfully rescued on September 15 2023,” he said.
Furthermore, Judha said that the Malaysian police asked F to identify the people suspected of being involved in the kidnapping.
“Of the 13 people who were identified by the police, F was able to recognize 10 suspects,” he explained.
