Manila: A 106-year-old tattoo artist from Indonesia is on the cover of Vogue magazine’s April issue. Traditional tattoo artist Apo Wang-Od is on the cover of Vogue magazine. This grandmother is the oldest artist to pose on the cover of Vogue magazine.
The image of Wang-Od, a grandmother with tattoos all over her body, has attracted a lot of attention.
Grandma’s place is in Buscalan, a mountain village in Kalinga Province, Philippines. Apo Wang-Od showed his prowess by learning the indigenous tradition of hand tattooing as a teenager. As she is an expert in tattooing geometric shapes, many people come to her for tattooing.
Wang-Od thinks that he will not stop working as long as people come to poke green. They are training the next generation to tattoo so that their legacy does not end.
