Indre-et-Loire: refused emergency room, she dies of a heart attack

by time news

A resident of Fondettes (Indre-et-Loire), near Tours, died on the night of Sunday to Monday, shortly after midnight, after being refused emergency room. In the evening, according to the New Republic, the sexagenarian had difficulty breathing. Her husband takes her directly to the emergency room of the Alliance clinic in Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire, a few kilometers from their home.

But on site, the reception staff explains to them that the services of the clinic are saturated, like many establishments in France, that it cannot be taken care of without a prior call to 15, or that they can go in the emergency room of the Trousseau Hospital Center in Tours. Who would have asked for the emergency number to be called first anyway, as it was tweeted on December 23.

The couple returns to their home to contact the Samu. The dispatching doctor takes the woman’s condition seriously and immediately dispatches a fire brigade ambulance to their home. The emergency services did not have time to arrive in Fondettes before the husband contacted the Samu again: his wife seemed to be in cardiac arrest. The firefighters were unable to revive her, and she was declared dead shortly after midnight.

According to France Bleu Touraine, the Tours prosecutor’s office has opened a judicial inquiry into the causes of death. The family of the deceased sexagenarian did not file a complaint.
