How will French industry spend the winter? Against all expectations, the leaders’ morale is still holding up despite all the dangers threatening them: inflation, the announced drop in demand and of course the energy crisis. However, the next few months promise to be critical.

Entangled in the difficulties of its nuclear fleet, France today depends on foreign countries for its purchases of gas and even electricity. According to a Banque de France survey published in early November, 40% of industrial companies expect to see their production disrupted this winter and two-thirds anticipate a negative shock to their margins.
