Think tank officials also plan to discuss ways to strengthen Korea-US cooperation in high-tech industries such as semiconductors.

According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on the 5th, Minister Ahn will visit the United States from the 6th to the 10th to meet with U.S. lawmakers and federal and state government officials. First, on the 6th and 7th, we will visit Georgia, where many Korean companies in the high-tech industries such as semiconductors and automobiles have entered the market. It is expected that they will meet with Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and others and request active support and interest from Korean companies that have invested in the state. In addition, we will visit SK On’s Georgia plant, hold a meeting with companies doing business in Georgia, and check the difficulties faced by companies investing in the United States.

On the 8th and 10th, we will move to Washington DC and meet with members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives who are related to our company’s investments and corporate activities in the United States. Minister Ahn plans to request attention and support from the U.S. Congress to ensure that Korean companies’ investments and activities in the U.S. are carried out stably. Opinions will also be exchanged on ways to strengthen Korea-US cooperation in the high-tech industry through interviews with US industry and think tank officials. They also plan to pay condolences to former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who passed away on the 29th of last month.
