According to the counselor, this would be due to the fact that the number of plurinominals must be calculated for each of the partiesand not for each of the coalitions that ran in the 2024 elections.

In agreement with the proposal of the INE counselor, Morena and its allies, the PVEM and PT, would have 317 legislators in the Chamber of Deputies.
This way would not achieve an absolute majority as the ruling party seeks, which requires 334 seats in Congress.

It was during the night of last Wednesday, August 21, when the Commission on Prerogatives of the INE unanimously approved the preliminary draft that defends the Morena’s qualified majority and allies in the Chamber of Deputies.
According to the draft approved by the INE, the ruling party could have an overrepresentation of 236 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, while its allies would have:

- Green Party: 77 seats
