He General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE) will start today the electoral process 2024-2025 to elect judges, ministers y magistrates.
Derived from the mandate of judicial reform, the INE will approve the first agreements for the election by popular vote of more than 800 positions.
One of the agreements will be that, if necessary, extraordinary resources may be requested in the remaining months of this year to carry out the activities of immediate organization.
Regarding the Budget 2025will be instructed to make the necessary modifications to include in next year’s spending the amounts necessary to carry out the judicial election, with the quality standards of the last federal elections for which more than 22 billion pesos were requested.
“It is instructed to Executive Secretariat, coordinate with the Executive Directorates and Technical Units the preparation of the Budget Project for the fiscal year 2025, corresponding to the Extraordinary Electoral Process 2024-2025, for the election of various positions of the Judiciary of the Federationwhich will guarantee the proper development of this”, indicates the project that will be discussed today in the General Council.
It is planned to hold a civic ceremony that will mark the declaration of the start of the election of judges, and then discuss and approve the agreements to order the calendar of activities and modification of the 2025 Budget to include the expenses of organizing these elections.
The Supreme Court must resolve various queries pending against the opinion of the judicial reform.
He INE He will also be a member of the Temporary Commission for the Extraordinary Electoral Process of the Judiciary, which will be chaired by Councillor Jorge Montaño, with the participation of Councillors Norma Irene de la Cruz and Rita Bell López.
