CDMX.- The National Electoral Institute (INE) signed a collaboration agreement with various civil associations to train the personnel who work in the Citizen Assistance Modules (MAC) on issues of non-discrimination and equal treatment.

The president of the Commission on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination, Rita Bell López Vences, considered that it is important to reach this agreement to professionalize INE officials who work in the MAC on how to care for trans and non-binary people.

López Vences celebrated that through these actions the electoral institute complies with the policy of non-discrimination and gender equality.

The electoral authority will train and sensitize 1,430 people in 107 modules in six entities: Guanajuato, Tlaxcala, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Chiapas and Mexico City.

THEY WILL IMPROVE CARE

For her part, counselor Carla Humphrey Jordan, president of the Federal Voter Registration Commission, considered that it is important that the care offered in the more than 800 MACs be with high quality standards.

To promote these actions, the civil associations Buscador de Sueños AC, from Tlaxcala, signed the agreement; Seres AC Collective, from Guanajuato; EXPLORA T, AC, from Nuevo León; Trans AC Impulse, from Jalisco; Young People for Comprehensive Health, AC and A Friendly Hand in the Fight against AIDS AC, from Chiapas.

Present at the signing of the agreement were the person in charge of the Office of the Executive Secretariat, María Elena Cornejo Esparza; the head of the Technical Unit for Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination, Flor Dessiré León Hernández.

The director of Operation and Monitoring of the Executive Directorate of the Federal Voter Registry, Leobardo Mendoza Castillo, participated in the ceremony.
