At the summit of the International Football Federation (FIFA), a proposal was presented on a new scheme for distributing income in world football: financial resources between European football and other associations will be divided in a ratio of 60 to 40%, TASS reports, citing FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

“In the study that we present to you, you will see that European associations received 70% of the income and the rest of the world received 30%. We propose to divide the income in a ratio of 60 to 40% so that this 60% exceeds the previous 70%, ”said Infantino.

In addition, FIFA is evaluating the possibility of revising the calendar of international matches, within which the World Cup will be held every two years.

“Practice has shown that it is possible to make the international calendar more flexible. Annual international soccer competitions could be held, and then more money could be invested. Everyone will get an additional opportunity to play and earn big incomes, ”added the head of FIFA.

The FIFA World Cup is held every four years. The last tournament was played in Russia in 2018.The next championship will be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022 in Qatar.
