Annual inflation in Belarus fell to 4.7% in April. Belstat reports.
In April, goods and paid services rose in price by 0.4% compared to March.
At the same time, annual inflation continued to slow down to 4.7%. For comparison, in March it was 6%, and in February – 11.7%.
In annual terms, in April, paid services increased the most in price – by 6.6%. Food products rose in price by 6.1%. Non-food – by 1.6%. In April, air and rail transport services (by 4.3% and 3.6%, respectively), as well as tourism services (by 4.1%) rose most actively in price. Of food products, the price of vegetables grew more actively (plus 1.9%).
A less optimistic picture emerges in terms of inflation in January-April. On average, during this period, prices increased by 8.5% compared to the same period last year, food products rose in price most of all – by 10.4%. The high figure for four months is associated with a larger inflation rate at the beginning of this year.
Recall that for 2023, officials predict inflation at the level of 7-8%.
