Inflation in Britain rises to 30-year low

LONDON: Inflation in Britain has risen to 7 per cent, the highest in 30 years.

Thus the cost of living there has worsened. Experts believe that this poses a threat to the country’s economic recovery.

The UK central bank has forecast inflation at 8 per cent in April and is expected to reach double digits later this year.

“We see rising costs due to global pressure on energy markets.

“This could be exacerbated by the Ukraine-Russia conflict. Therefore, steps are being taken to reduce the burden on the people, ”said Rishi Sunak, British Finance Minister.
