REPORT – Since the Covid-19 crisis and the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the French have been faced with an increasingly oppressive rise in prices. Before switching to the new year, the time is unfortunately not for the party for small businesses, which have seen the amount of their gas and electricity bills soar. Reduced recruitment, longer working hours… Forced to adopt solutions to offset the consequences of this price hike and the resulting reduction in financial margins, they must also face competition from supermarkets, less handicapped by inflation. We went to meet three small traders in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, who share their daily difficulties in the face of tenfold financial burdens on our microphone.
