Influx of patients with Rotavirus symptoms at RGD – Suriname Herald

by time news

Immediately after the outbreak of the Rotavirus, the Ministry of Health and the management of the Regional Health Service (RGD) made efforts to make additional facilities available. The decision was taken after a visit to the Emergency Department (ED) of the Academic Hospital Paramaribo (AZP) last Monday evening.

Children with the well-known Rotavirus complaints can now also visit the RGD outpatient clinics in Limesgracht and Latour every day between 7 p.m. and midnight.

Public health director Rakesh Gajadhar Sukul orientated himself last night at the two outpatient clinics and has been able to observe that there is an influx of patients.

They appeared to be satisfied with the prompt assistance provided by the nursing staff and doctors. Work is being done on opening several outpatient clinics of the RGD to bring care closer to society.
