The Ministry of Agriculture has said that there is no chance of rice shortage in Sri Lanka at present.
The Ministry of Agriculture has informed that the Rice Marketing Board of Sri Lanka has a stock of 7 thousand 70 metric tons of rice.
The Ministry said that there is no risk of rice shortage in the future as there is sufficient stock of rice in the country.
Price of rice
Considering the price of rice in the market, if necessary to control the rise in the price of rice, the reserves of the Rice Marketing Board will be used, the Ministry of Agriculture has also mentioned.
However, it has been indicated that the increase in the price of rice in the market has been controlled.
The Ministry of Agriculture also said that this happened due to the import of rice and receipt of rice subsidy from other countries.
