jpnn.comINDRAGIRI HULU – Indragiri Hulu (Inhu) Police Chief, AKBP Fahrian Saleh Siregar, has invited all levels of society to create a peaceful and fair Regional Head Election (Pilkada) in 2024, free from political hoaxes, SARA issues, and identity politics.
Ahead of the 2024 Pilkada, AKBP Fahrian and his team are actively promoting peaceful and hoax-free elections.
Moreover, avoiding SARA issues and identity politics is crucial for ensuring a safe, peaceful, and calm regional election.
“Create a peaceful and calm situation, even though there are different choices, but still within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia. The public remains vigilant against provocations that divide national unity,” Fahrian stated on Wednesday (7/8).
AKBP Fahrian explained that political hoaxes are fabricated news about politics used as propaganda to incite the public.
Similarly, the issue of SARA, which involves politics linked to ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-groups, can trigger societal divisions.
Furthermore, identity politics, based on individual identity such as ethnicity, race, tribe, or even religion, poses an additional threat.
“The three factors mentioned above are the main causes of chaos in the Pilkada or other democratic processes. To ensure a smooth, safe, orderly, and peaceful Inhu Pilkada, we must avoid political hoaxes, racial issues, and identity politics,” Fahrian concluded.
