One of Spain’s legendary footballers, Andreas Iniesta, will end his amazing career on October 8.
The former maestro in the midfield of “Barcelona” gave up the sport at the age of 40.
In his career, the Spanish midfielder has played 885 matches at club and national level. Iniesta has won 35 trophies, including the World Cup and 2 European Cups. He scored 93 goals and provided 161 assists.
Iniesta is also the footballer who brought the only world title to his country so far. In the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the midfielder scored the winning goal against the Netherlands in the final.
Iniesta last played for Emirates from the UAE. The contract of the small midfielder expired in the summer, and the Spaniard was unable to find another team.
He previously spent five years in Japan with Vissel Kobe after leaving the Nou Camp in 2018. With Barcelona, the Spaniard won everything possible (4 Champions Leagues, 3 world club championships, 9 titles in the Spanish Primera, 3 European Super Cups, 6 King’s Cups and 7 Spanish Super Cups) and thus became one of the legends of the game. The midfielder spent 16 years in the Catalan team.
Iniesta is expected to start taking coaching courses very soon. And no wonder he was then appointed to the school of “Barcelona”.
