Kovid vaccination of adolescents begins in the country. More than 7 lakh teenagers have so far registered for vaccination through the Covin portal. The state has also started vaccination for children. Health Minister Veena George said 551 vaccination centers have been set up exclusively for teenagers. Five lakh doses of the vaccine arrived yesterday and today the state will receive an additional 1.45 lakh doses. Schools reopened today after the Christmas holidays. Kovid confirmed 33,750 people in the country in 24 hours. Omicron cases rose to 1,700. The Department of Health has advised foreigners to strictly adhere to the quarantine in the face of rising number of Omicron patients. Veena George also said that extreme vigilance is needed to prevent the spread of Omicron.
