New Delhi: Indian tennis player Sania Mirza has withdrawn from the US Open due to an elbow injury. The 35-year-old had announced that she would retire at the end of this year. She indicated in her Instagram post that there will be a change in this decision as well.
The US Open starts on August 29. Sania was injured two weeks ago during the National Bank Open in Canada. Sania, who reached the mixed doubles semi-finals here, also played in the Cincinnati Open last week. The withdrawal was done following the scan report.
