Inmates of the Pedregal prison will learn about technology 4.0

This Tuesday, December 20, the doors of a new world opened for the inmates of the El Pedregal Jail, with the inauguration of a program that will allow them to access courses on technology 4.0 and the Valley of Software, offered by Sapiencia, which will also reach the men’s pavilion.

News that for Dayana was a gift from heaven, since the 8 years that she has spent in this detention center have forced her to remain in oblivion and technological backwardness.

“We got out of the little cage in which we find ourselves from the routine and it is very cool that they take us into account that we are not really dead to society so to speak,” said Mayurly Jaramillo, an inmate at El Pedregal.

In 34 fields, those deprived of liberty will be able to train and enhance their knowledge in Digital Marketing, Programming and Web Development.

“We are going to have a chance to have here in the Pedregal complex only a population that exceeds 400 people but we still lack the statistics of Bellavista and Itagüí in which we are going to extend the process,” said Carlos Alberto Chaparro, Director of Sapience.

This program will also be taken in January to young people from the special centers La POLA and La Floresta.
