Webuild launches the “Alberto Giovannini Award: innovation and digitization in infrastructures” in Milan on November 8, a scholarship program for young graduates, undergraduates and researchers in the infrastructure sector, dedicated to life and to the commitment for young people. by Alberto Giovannini, the Italian economist Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Infrastructure Group, who died prematurely in 2019.

The Award will be presented during an event attended by – among others – the CEO of Webuild, Pietro Salini; the Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister, Francesco Giavazzi and Carmine Di Noia, CONSOB Commissioner, Giovannini’s longtime friends and colleagues.

The event aims to draw a thread between Giovannini’s experience and the future prospects of young Italians. In addition to having led Italy’s return to the bond market in 1993, to having collaborated with the Italian government and with the highest European institutions, Giovannini was the first Italian economist to obtain a professorship at the age of only 27 in the United States and among the first to publish in the American Economic Review.

Teaching and supporting the growth of young people has been an integral part of his career and today reflects Webuild’s commitment to attracting and training talent around the world.
