(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 26 – In the event of temperatures above 35 degrees, even if only perceived, it is possible to request redundancy payments for weather events. This is underlined by INPS in a message with which “in consideration of the exceptional heat wave that is affecting the entire national territory and the impact that such climatic conditions can have on work activities and on the possible suspension or reduction of the same” the indications on the methods with which to request wage integration benefits are summarised. In the event that the suspension or reduction of work activities is ordered by order of the public authority, employers can request wage integration by invoking the reason “suspension or reduction of the activity by order of the public authority for reasons not attributable to the company or the workers”. In the event of excessive heat that does not allow the regular performance of work activities, the possibility of requesting wage integrations with the reason “weather event” for “high temperatures” remains unchanged. “In the case of an application with the reason “weather event” for “high temperatures”, INPS reiterates, the wage integration benefit can be recognized where the temperatures themselves are higher than 35 degrees centigrade. It should be noted, however, that even the occurrence of temperatures equal to or lower than 35 degrees centigrade can determine the acceptance of the application for access to wage integration benefits if the evaluation of the so-called “perceived” temperature, which is higher than the real one, comes into consideration”.
