Inse Rail and Bews will draft the project to extend the Barcelona tramway to the center of Sant Feliu de Llobregat

The Metropolitan Transport Authority of Barcelona, ​​ATM, has awarded the consortium formed by Inse Raily Bews, the drafting of the informative study and the executive project for the extension of the Diagonal-Baix Llobregat tram to the center of Sant Feliu de Llobregat.

In this report, two alternatives will have to be defined, which will be based on previous studies and will incorporate the results of the compatibility analysis of the tramway options with the latest project for burying the railway line and moving the terminal stop. In this process the derived layout characteristics will have to be updated.

The two proposals will analyze the new points of view of traffic and mobility, compatibility with the urban environment, tramway operation and exploitation, existing services and those that will be affected, energy supply, functionality, environmental compatibility and the economy, with an adequate degree of precision to be able to submit the study to public information.

In addition, at the request of the City Council, a third alternative or variant of the previous two will be taken into account due to the consideration of a third additional stop closer to the Pla area. Additionally, this study will add the guidelines arising from the international ideas competition carried out by the Barcelona City Council that have an impact on the definition of the alternatives.

After the selection by the ATM of the most appropriate alternative from the point of view of sustainability and the objectives of the action, the consortium formed by Inse Rail and Bews will draw up the construction project in which the implementation part will be included. tramway and the urbanization of the environment. Both in the planning stage, in which the informative study will be carried out, and in the design phase, for the construction project, the BIM methodology will be used.
