GOMA – The naval force unit in Goma has just benefited from two small military boats this Thursday, January 18, 2024. This is made possible by President Félix Tshisekedi and the military governor of North Kivu, Peter Cirimwami.

These floating boats equipped with war machines showed their ability to defeat the enemy with the particular touch of certain marine specialists. At their head, Rear Admiral Rachid Mapatano, commander of the 33rd grouping of the FARDC naval force.

Our source maintains that the objective is to provide the Congolese naval force with technical means in order to be able to hermetically defend the naval or lake space of the DRC.

Peter Cirimwami, the governor of the province: “We are in the process of increasing our operational capacity by trying to see from the naval force side what is feasible.” At the local level we are trying to rehabilitate canals which had broken down.

The governor asks the population to trust President Tshisekedi. According to him, the president is sparing no effort to create lasting peace in the east of the country. “Let the population trust the supreme commander of the armed forces, Félix Tshisekedi, who deliberately decided to put an end to this war. The strong signal was sent by him, the head of state and supreme commander, and let us only support his vision.”
