“Bob called and Paraag Marathe happened to be in my office and just had really good counsel,” Lynch revealed. “Sometimes you need some outside perspective and I think it kind of kept us going. I’m very appreciative, you need friends when you’re struggling.”
Lynch further clarified that the impasse in the negotiations was centered around contract language rather than the final figures. However, both sides were finally able to overcome this hurdle and strike a deal.
The GM also acknowledged the efforts of his internal team, emphasizing that “so many people were working on this.” Nevertheless, Lynch emphasized the importance of having a trusted friend like Myers during challenging times.
