Inspection of business establishments in Saudi Arabia; 120 institutions fined

Riyadh: In Jizan, Saudi Arabia, 120 companies were fined for violating the law during inspections of commercial establishments last month. Municipal officials conducted inspections in the commercial centers of Swamta. Swamta Baladi’s inspections were aimed at ensuring that businesses are complying with health and safety standards and municipal regulations.

Municipality officials informed that 1340 field inspections were conducted in the last one month. The officials visited all the businesses selling food items, restaurants, mobile restaurants and other establishments in the municipality. Engineer Ahmad Hikami, head of Swamta Municipality, said that 330 kg of unusable food items were found and destroyed during the raid.

11 institutions found to have serious violations of the law were closed down during the inspection. 120 firms were fined for other less serious violations. He informed that the inspection of the business establishments will continue in the coming days in view of public health safety.

The Baladia chief appealed to members of the public to call 940 and report them to the Unified Complaints Center or through the municipality’s accounts on social media.
