jpnn.comPADANG – West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Suharyono appealed to the public not to be afraid to report if they find police officers who are not neutral during the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.

The two-star general promised to professionally process any police officers who were proven not to be neutral during the implementation of the simultaneous regional elections in Ranah Minang.

He added that individuals who are caught or proven to be siding with one of the regional head candidate pairs will be directly handled or processed by the Professional and Security Division (Propam) and Internal Security (Paminal) of the West Sumatra Regional Police.

“If the public finds and receives information about police officers who are not neutral, please report it to us,” said Inspector General Suharyono in Padang, Tuesday (24/9).

The best graduate of the Police Academy (Akpol) in 1992 and recipient of the Adhi Makayasa award stated that the neutrality of the Police is a mandate and direct direction from the Chief of Police to the ranks during the implementation of the five-yearly democratic party.

“This has become a commitment from the leadership of the National Police and the leadership of this country. The law states that the TNI and Polri must be neutral,” he said.

Nevertheless, Inspector General Suharyono believes that every personnel assigned will be neutral.

However, he still appealed to the public to help monitor the police, and to dare to report them if they find individuals who are not neutral.
