Instagram plans to return the timeline

by time news

Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced during a speech in the US Senate that the company plans to return the timeline in the first quarter of 2022. He did not specify if it would be available by default or if it could be enabled. This is reported by Techcrunch.

Instagram introduced an algorithmic feed in 2016, it gave out posts, taking into account the number of likes and views, so that users did not miss interesting posts. The company was criticized for its new approach and was subsequently forced to add more fresh posts to users’ feeds. The social network also tested functions that allowed you to view only the latest publications, and also add friends to the “Favorites” so that their posts appear first in the news feed.

The dissatisfaction of users with the new algorithm reached the point that other photo applications that provided users with a chronological feed briefly received high popularity, for example, in February 2018, the Vero application became the most popular social network in the AppStore.
