The pursuit concluded when a PIT maneuver – a technique used to spin a vehicle out of control – was executed. This caused both the suspect vehicle, a Mercedes driven by a 19-year-old from Royal Palm Beach, and the trooper’s patrol car to leave the roadway and impact a guardrail.The trooper was later airlifted to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
“The trooper is expected to make a full recovery,” a senior official stated.
Suspects in Custody, outstanding Warrant
Both the driver of the Mercedes and a passenger, a 21-year-old, were taken into custody following the crash. Authorities discovered an outstanding warrant for the passenger’s arrest originating from Broward County,Florida. The nature of the warrant has not yet been publicly disclosed.
