In an initiative led by the Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Alausí Canton, through its Risk Management Unit, the installation of 6 milestones has been carried out at strategic points in the La Esperanza and Casual sectors.

On Friday, April 5, 2024, the Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Alausí Canton, through its Risk Management Unit, has carried out the installation of 6 milestones at strategic points in the La Esperanza and Casual sectors. This action has as its main objective the continuous monitoring of the landslide zone, in an effort to strengthen risk prevention and mitigation in the region.

The boundary markers, geographical reference devices, are added to the studies previously carried out by the Risk Management Secretariat and the Geological and Energy Research Institute (IIGE). Its implementation will allow more detailed and effective supervision of ground conditions, providing valuable information for decision-making regarding risk management.
