In a statement to MAP, Mr. Miraoui highlighted the importance of this university which today includes 8 university establishments compared to only two at its inauguration in 1985, namely the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, also noting the large number of students who continue their studies there, more than 31,000 registered, taught by approximately 711 teacher-researchers and an administration which includes 270 civil servants and technicians.

And he added that the projects open today require a university president capable of fostering the climate for training the skills of tomorrow and also being in phase with the rapid changes in the socio-economic environment of the university.

In this regard, the Minister mentioned the National Plan for Accelerating the Transformation of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ecosystem (ESRI 2030 Pact), which seeks to promote the emergence of a new Moroccan university, in particular by supporting a comprehensive and integrated educational reform, scientific research that meets international standards and efficient governance.

Mr. Miraoui also indicated that the new educational architecture on which his department is working is mainly intended to improve the proper learning and mastery of languages ​​and also to enable the acquisition of transversal personal skills and in the digital domain, with the aim of allowing graduates to easily access the job market.

He also urged the president of the university, Chouïb Doukkali, to pool his efforts with all university, economic and social stakeholders and to contribute his skills and expertise to the service of all components of the university.

For his part, the brand new president of Chouïb Doukkali University, Azzedine Azim, said he was honored by the trust placed in him, while expressing, in a statement to MAP, his determination to take on the university’s modernization and excellence project, in support of the national strategy led by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation.
