Thiruvananthapuram: Dr. KPCC digital media convener. P. Sarin was appointed. A.K. Sarin’s appointment replaces Antony’s son Anil Antony. Anil Antony resigned after the central government took up the case against the BBC documentary on the Gujarat genocide. Anil resigned from all party positions through a tweet.

Sarin completed MBBS from Kozhikode Medical College and passed civil services in 2008. Got 555th rank in the first opportunity and got a job in Indian Accounts & Audit Service. He resigned from his job in 2016 and joined active politics.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Sarin worked in the research department and IT cell of the Congress. In the assembly elections, he contested as a Congress candidate from Ottapalam constituency, but lost to K. Prem Kumar of the CPM.
