Cuddalore: The labor welfare fund should be paid to the board quickly, Assistant Labor Commissioner (Implementation) Rajasekaran said.

According to section 2(d) of the Labor Welfare Fund Act, in factories, motor transport companies, mountain plantation companies, shops employing 5 and more workers, food establishments, each worker working in the food establishments, Rs. Management should pay as welfare fund share. Accordingly, the labor welfare fund for the year 2022 should be paid to the board expeditiously.
The employer is obliged to pay labor welfare fund to all categories of workers who work for more than 30 days in a year. In case of failure to pay this Labor Welfare Fund, steps will be taken to collect the amount under the Revenue Collection Act as per Tamil Nadu Labor Welfare Fund Act 28.
Therefore, the amount of labor welfare fund for the year 2022 should be sent to ‘The Secretary, Tamil Nadu Labor Welfare Board, TMS Complex, Thenampettai, Chennai-600 006. Chennai- 600 006’ should be sent as Bank Draft.
