Riyadh: Insulting the national flag or the royal flag is punishable by imprisonment in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Public Prosecution has warned that the crime is punishable by up to a year in prison and a fine of up to half a million rupees. The warning comes amid widespread use of the national flag as part of Saudi Foundation Day celebrations.

This is the only difference between the two flags. The public prosecution said it was an offense under the Saudi flag law to insult the national flag in any other way, to insult the flag, to lower the flag to the ground, to insult or insult any other symbol of the country, out of hatred or contempt for the country or the state.

The fee for new number plates is 800 riyals. Those who want to get such number plates should pay the fee in the traffic account and then go to the ‘Abshir’ platform of the Home Ministry and select ‘Traffic’ from the Services tab. Then take ‘Contact’ and select ‘Request number plate with logo’ and apply for number plates. The application should include the details of their vehicle, number plate they want to replace and the required logo. Also a copy of the payment receipt should be attached on the ‘Abshir’ platform.
