The haters.

«This is the environment of the so-called “haters”, the “keyboard lions” who, after not being able to resist the “fatal attraction” of gratuitous insults, vulgar offenses and vilification of institutions behind the apparent anonymity of social media – sometimes simulating false cover names, in the illusion of being able to get away with it in this way – unleash their indiscriminate hatred, certain that they will not have to answer for their behavior before the law, which, instead, clearly and without exception punishes those who, through the network, commit this type of crime», explains the note from the police headquarters. «The State Police, in fact, maintains careful monitoring of the many existing online communication platforms, and reminds that social networks are not a free zone where one can express with impunity the worst manifestations of verbal aggression stuffed with slanderous and seriously offensive expressions towards public or private subjects, or towards institutions of the Republic. Opinions and judgments expressed on the web and on social networks are subject to the same rules and laws that regulate normal interpersonal relationships and those with institutions: consequently, offenses and insults expressed via social media constitute crimes aggravated by the use of a means of mass communication”. The position of a third person who liked the offenses in question is being examined.
