The reduction by 1 unit of insurance contributions from 1-1-2025 was among the measures referred to in financial staff, during specialization of announcements by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at TEF.
The Deputy Minister of Finance Chr. Dimas said that the new reduction of insurance contributions by 1 unit, will come by 0.5% from the contributions of the employees.
As for the remaining 0.5%, it will come from employer contributions in the health sector.
As for the financial gap created by this reduction, according to the financial staff, it is covered by the increase in wages, which also entails more cumulative contributions.
Abolition of the pretense fee for freelancers
As a second important initiative, Mr. Dimas mentioned the abolition of the fee for self-employed professionals.
He also said that the minimum taxable amount of freelancers will also be reduced in areas with 1,500 inhabitants instead of 500, while the criterion of the maximum salary of an employee will not be calculated additively but only comparatively.
He also referred, among other things, to the permanence of the return of the EFK to agricultural oil.
