Insurance launched for iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac, new and used, in Colombia

Seguros Mundial sealed an alliance with iShop stores, to create insurance for iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac devices.

The policy that the insurance company will begin to offer has the qualified theft, total loss and accidental screen damage coverages (applies only to the iPhone category).

Seguros Mundial reported that the policy can be purchased to insure new and used equipment that are less than six months old from Apple-authorized dealers in Colombia.

It should be noted that this insurance covers the replacement of the aforementioned Apple devices, “in accordance with the terms of article 239 and 240 of the penal code and in the case of total loss due to accidental damage, covers the replacement of the insured property due to the impossibility of repairing it or because its cost exceeds 75% of its commercial price”, commented Seguros Mundial.

“Also, for iPhones the insurance covers accidental screen damage that affect its functionality, provided that they result in its repair or replacement”, he added.

Radiography of robberies in Colombia

Between January 1 and August 2, 2021, the National Police registered 169,539 thefts from people, noting a growth of 50% compared to 2021.

According to what was reported by the authorities, 37% of robberies in Colombia are committed in Bogotáfollowed by Medellín, which represents 12%.
