(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 13 – Record profits for the insurance sector last year: 8 billion euros were reached, with exponential growth compared to the 2.3 billion achieved in 2022 for +5.7 billion, and a return on capital (ROE) equal to 10.5%, back to pre-covid levels. This is revealed in a report by the Fisac ​​Cgil Studies & Research Office, based on Ania data relating to the 2023 financial statements. The insurance sector, as stated in the Fisac ​​Cgil report, has recovered in particular a very strong profitability in the Life Sector which has generated 5.5 billion euros in profits compared to the loss of 0.4 billion in 2022. “The absolutely positive elements that emerge from the analysis, in terms of profitability and the solidity of the sector, confirm how the workers in the sector have worked at their best, with professionalism and dedication in a difficult year”, observes the general secretary of Fisac ​​Cgil, Susy Esposito. “This must form the basis for significant recognition of the staff, starting from the next contract renewals, at first and second level”.
