Integrity Commission arrests an official in the Anbar Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Directorate for extortion and bribery

The Federal Integrity Commission reported today, Friday, the arrest of an official in the Anbar Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Directorate for blackmailing a citizen and receiving a bribe from him.

The Commission said in a statement received by the (INA), “A working team formed in the Anbar Investigation Office was able to arrest the head of the Intelligence Division of the “Zankoura” area, affiliated with the Anbar Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Directorate – Ramadi Division, red-handed while receiving a bribe.”
She added, “The accused received a bribe of one million dinars from one of the complainants, after deceiving him into believing that there was a security report against him,” noting that “the arrest was carried out in accordance with an arrest warrant issued by the judge of the Ramadi Investigation Court, which is competent to consider integrity cases; based on the provisions of Resolution (160 of 1983).”
She noted that “a formal seizure report was prepared for the operation, and it was presented, along with the accused and the seized items, to the competent investigating judge to complete the legal procedures and decide the fate of the accused.”
