Intel has announced new 12th Generation Intel Core mobile processors with the official launch of the Intel Core P-series and U-series processors. These 20 new mobile processors will be the foundation of the next generation of thin and light laptops, with more than 250 products expected this year by Acer, Asus, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, LG, MSI, NEC, Samsung and others. The first devices will be available in March 2022. Similar to the rest of the 12th generation processor family products, Intel’s latest processors for thin-and-light products are based on Intel’s Performance Hybrid Architecture which features a combination of core, Performance-core (P-core), and high-efficiency cores, the Efficient-cores (E-cores).

From video calls to web browsing to photo-editing, workloads are intelligently managed by assigning them to the most appropriate core at the right time to achieve optimal multitasking with Intel Thread Director on Windows 11. The new processors come with up to 14 cores (6 P-cores and 8 E-cores), support for DDR5 / LPDDR5 and DDR4 / LPDDR4 memory, up to 70 percent higher multi-thread performance, Wi-Fi 6E ( Gig +) integrated, Thunderbolt 4 and Intel IPU6.0 for better image quality and greater videoconferencing efficiency. “Following the launch of the fastest gaming processor, we are now expanding the 12th Generation Intel Core processor family to deliver a big leap in performance in thin-and-light laptops. From thin, lightweight devices to products with sleek design and performance that will satisfy the enthusiast, we offer consumers and businesses leading performance and advanced technologies, ”said Chris Walker, corporate vice president and general manager, Mobility Client Platforms at Intel.
